What is Business Onboarding?

Business Onboarding, or KYB (Know Your Business), is the process of verifying a business and its UBOs (Ultimate Beneficial Owner) in order to ensure that the business and UBOs are legitimate, are not on any watchlists, nor pose a risk to do business with. KYB is an important process for financial institutions, and is required by law. FinCEN requires that financial institutions follow their rules for CDD (Customer Due Diligence), which includes standards for KYB verifications.

KYB verifications have traditionally been a very manual process. Socure's Business Onboarding solution enables both the business entity and the UBOs to be verified automatically using a single API endpoint. This process is built to reduce the time required to verify the business and UBOs while removing manual efforts, delivering a better experience for both the fraud or compliance team and the end user.
