Digital Intelligence

Adds Actor Classification to the Digital Intelligence response

What's new

Adds a new actorClassification object to the digitalIntelligence payload. It shows whether a session was driven by a person, a script, or an AI agent. When we can tell, it also names which one, such as an account aggregator, a search crawler, or a personal AI agent like Meta's Muse.

Use actorClassification to:

See whether automation was detected in a session (isAutomated).
Tell scripts from AI agents (isAgentic).
See a risk level for scripts: low for known, network-verified operators, medium for unknown scripts, high for scripts pretending to be a known crawler (scriptAutomationRisk).
See who is behind the automation, when we can identify it (scriptAutomationDetails, agentAutomationDetails).
Understand why a session couldn't be classified (inconclusivenessReason).

Actor Classification is a Premier feature, temporarily available for testing and evaluation. It covers web sessions using the Digital Intelligence Web SDK 2.9.0 or later.

Impact

You can now see automation and AI agent activity in your traffic that wasn't visible before. You can also separate expected automation, like account aggregators, from unknown scripts and agents. Use it alongside your other risk signals.

Changes

Change	Field
Added	`digitalIntelligence.actorClassification`
Added	`actorClassification.summary` (`isAutomated`, `isAgentic`, `scriptAutomationRisk`)
Added	`actorClassification.scriptAutomationDetails` (`type`, `name`, `indicator`)
Added	`actorClassification.agentAutomationDetails` (`type`, `name`, `indicator`)
Added	`actorClassification.inconclusivenessReason` (`code`, `message`)

Predictive DocV

DocV Omega: a calibrated fraud score for Document Verification

DocV Omega is the latest evolution of the Predictive DocV model. It connects document and biometric evidence with identity, device, behavioral, velocity, network, and journey context, then assesses how those signals reinforce each other to produce a single calibrated fraud score.

What's new

Calibrated fraud score — The documentVerification response now includes a scores object with an activeModelScore field. Evaluate this score against your configured reject threshold when making a decision.
Richer response signals — New response nodes expose per-source extracted data (documentData.sources) and document, biometric, capture, and graph intelligence.
Backward compatible — The decision object and reasonCodes are unchanged, so your existing integration keeps working with no changes until you choose to act on the score. No SDK update is required for v5 SDK integrations. Because decision.value keeps its existing logic, the score and decision.value can point to different outcomes.

Resubmit transactions are not eligible for a score.

To learn more, see Predictive DocV. For the response fields, see the Enrichment API Reference.

Watchlist

Custom Watchlist: screen and monitor your own proprietary lists in RiskOS™

Custom Watchlist is now available in RiskOS™. You can upload and manage your own fraud, compliance, regulatory, or self-exclusion lists, and screen and monitor against them using the same matching engine that powers Socure's Watchlist Screening and Monitoring.

What's new

Screen and monitor custom lists — Add one or more custom watchlists to your Screening and/or Monitoring policies the same way you configure Sanctions, Enforcement, PEP, and Adverse Media today.
Three ways to manage entries — Add, update, or remove records manually in the Dashboard (Reason Codes & Lists > Custom Watchlist), through the Custom Watchlist API, or by uploading a CSV in bulk (up to approximately 20,000 records and 10 MB per file).
Same matching engine as our global watchlists — Matches use Name Match Score and Entity Correlation Score, the same dual-score matching logic used across Sanctions, PEP, and Adverse Media, so thresholds are tuned the same way.
Re-screening on list updates — When a list changes, previously screened and monitored records are automatically re-evaluated, and new matches generate webhook alerts.
Reversible removal — Removing a record is a soft delete: its status changes from Active to Inactive rather than being deleted outright, so it is retained in the audit trail of the list.
List-level Active/Inactive control — Setting a list to Inactive removes it from every policy it's used in at once, without deleting the list or its records.
Entity type filtering — Screen for Individual, Organization, Vessel, Aircraft, or Other entity types to reduce false positives.
List and entry history — Each list and entry tracks Last Modified Date and Last Modified By, and a List History view shows changes over time.

No integration changes are required to use Custom Watchlist alongside your existing Watchlist policies. Custom Watchlist is available at no additional cost to customers already using another Watchlist product.

For setup steps, see Custom Watchlist and Watchlist Policy Configuration. For API details, see the Custom Watchlist API reference.

Graph Intelligence

New industry-focused Graph Intelligence signals

We expanded Graph Intelligence with new industry-focused signals. These signals capture how often, and across how many organizations, Socure has seen an identity element within key industry categories, adding finer-grained context on top of the existing Graph Intelligence network signals.

If you use Graph Intelligence, you now receive these signals in your responses. Use them as variables in your own models, or to identify thresholds that correlate with increased risk in your population. For the full signal names and definitions, see the Risk Signals reference in the RiskOS™ Dashboard (Settings > Documentation > Risk Signals).

Socure Verify (KYC)Prefill

Expanded data coverage: enhanced identity graph now live

We are adding a new premium data source to our identity graph, delivering meaningful improvements in coverage and match accuracy across our identity verification and fraud solutions.

What's New

Our identity graph is continuously enriched through a rigorous data source evaluation and integration process. As part of this ongoing effort, we are onboarding a new high-quality data provider that strengthens the depth and breadth of identity signals available across our platform.

This addition brings:

Increased population coverage — a measurable lift in the percentage of consumers with matchable identity records, particularly benefiting thin-file and previously underserved segments
Improved match accuracy — sharper resolution of identity attributes (name, address, phone, and related linkages)
Fresh, resilient data — the new source is integrated with the same update cadence and quality controls applied across our graph, helping ensure signal stays current as consumer data changes over time

How We Evaluate and Integrate Data Sources

Every data source added to our identity graph goes through a structured review process before it goes live:

Sourcing & vetting — we continuously evaluate potential data providers based on coverage gaps, data freshness, compliance posture, and consumer protection standards.
Quality & lift testing — candidate sources are benchmarked against existing graph data to quantify incremental coverage and accuracy lift before onboarding.
Integration & normalization — approved sources are mapped into our graph schema, deduplicated against existing records, and reconciled for conflicting or stale attributes.
Ongoing refresh & retirement — sources are refreshed on a defined cadence, and older or lower-performing sources are re-evaluated or retired to keep the graph optimized for both coverage and accuracy.

This process is applied consistently to every source in our graph, new and existing, so customers benefit from continuous improvement without any change required on their end.

No integration changes are required. This update is automatically reflected in identity match, verification, and fraud risk outputs across supported products. Customers may notice improved match rates and confidence scores, particularly for populations with limited digital footprint.

Sigma Identity FraudSigma Synthetic Fraud

More accurate scoring for last-4 SSN and ITIN inputs

We optimized the feature logic that handles nationalId inputs containing only the last 4 digits of a Social Security Number (SSN) or Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). Previously, select features treated these 4-digit inputs as complete, 9-digit values, which generally produced riskier scores.

With this optimization, score distributions for 4-digit SSN and ITIN inputs shift slightly lower and align more closely with the distributions for 9-digit and missing SSN and ITIN inputs. For 4-digit inputs, you can also expect an increase in both precision and recall.

Why it matters:

This increases auto-pass rates and reduces manual review overhead for Mexican identity documents.

Sept. 11, 2026

Socure Verify (KYC)

Partial match scoring for international identity verification

International identity verification now scores partial matches instead of returning no result. In markets with limited data coverage, an identity where only some PII fields match can return a score and continue through your workflow, recovering approvals that were previously dropped.

Why it matters:

Partial match scoring increases conversion rates in international markets with thin data coverage by recovering good users who would otherwise be dropped.

Sept. 11, 2026

Phone RiskPrefill

Shared name correlation for Phone Risk and Prefill

Phone Risk and Prefill now use the same name correlation logic. Previously, a phone number could return a name match in Phone Risk while Prefill returned no name for the same input. Both products now resolve names consistently, increasing Prefill fill rates on inputs that were already matching elsewhere. No integration or configuration changes are required.

Why it matters:

Shared name correlation improves form autofill completion rates and consistency across risk evaluation and identity prefill workflows, with no additional developer effort.

Reduced firing: R566, R582, and R606
Increased firing: R583 and R571

For reason code definitions, see the reason codes in the RiskOS™ Dashboard.

Why it matters:

These improvements increase the predictiveness and accuracy of these reason codes, enabling you to make more confident and precise decisions.

Predictive DocV

Inline barcode verification

You can now verify a document barcode in a single Evaluation API call. Send the decoded barcode payload as a base64-encoded string in the new barcode_payload field on the individual's docv data, instead of uploading the barcode separately and then evaluating it. This removes a network round trip and its underlying storage step from the verification path, which lowers overall latency.

This change is optional and additive. Your existing two-call upload flow continues to work unchanged, and only the barcode text is affected — front, back, and selfie images still use the existing upload flow.

To adopt the single-call flow, see the DocV Integration Guide.

Introducing passkeys for Digital Intelligence

Passkeys add a phishing-resistant, biometric credential to your RiskOS™ workflows through the Digital Intelligence Web SDK. The Socure Passkey Service runs the WebAuthn registration and assertion ceremonies and stores the resulting credentials, keyed by the identifiers you supply. It stores no user profile data and makes no authentication decision — it attests proof of possession, and you decide whether that authenticates the user for your system.

You integrate in two phases through your existing RiskOS™ workflows and the DI Web SDK. Registration creates a passkey on the user's device on their first visit, and assertion proves possession of that credential on return visits, using the SDK's registerPasskey() and assertPasskey() methods.

To get started, see the Passkey Integration Guide.

Socure Verify

Expanded FINTRAC compliance support for Canada identity verification

We've enhanced our Canada identity verification service to more fully support FINTRAC compliance requirements.

Richer verification data for Canada Credit Bureau checks (Credit File Method)

Responses now include tradeline count, verification category, and credit file age, giving compliance teams the information needed to confirm which FINTRAC-prescribed method — credit file or dual process — was used to verify an identity.

Expanded platform availability

These verification details are now available through ID+ and RiskOS™ platform integrations, giving customers more flexibility in how they consume FINTRAC-compliant verification data.

More complete verification source reporting

When an identity is verified using multiple data sources — for example, a credit bureau and a telco provider — customers need to see every source that contributed to that decision, not just the ones that returned a match. Source attribution now lists all sources involved in a check, including a credit bureau consulted as part of the process even when it didn't return its own match. This gives compliance and audit teams a fuller, more consistent record of how each identity was verified, which is especially important for demonstrating FINTRAC-compliant identity verification in Canada.

Introducing Age Assurance

Age Assurance is a new RiskOS™ solution that confirms whether a user meets an age threshold without exposing their date of birth or exact age. A configurable waterfall runs low-friction passive methods first — device, phone, and email checks against Socure's Identity Graph — and escalates to active selfie or document capture only when a passive method returns no result.

Responses return privacy-preserving Boolean threshold flags (18+, 21+, and 25+) alongside a top-level accept or reject decision. No date of birth, exact age, images, or confidence scores are returned. Passive methods follow a no-hit, no-charge model.

To get started, see Age Assurance and Build an Age Assurance Integration.

Conditional address acceptance

Customers can now approve certain nontraditional residential addresses when they show stable, long-term residence. This change can reduce commercial address-related declines by more than half and help more users get through signup with less friction.

Standard commercial locations like offices, retail businesses, hotels, and short-term lodging will remain blocked under R964, but when enabled, the setting automatically identifies eligible address types:

Long-term program housing such as shelters, transitional housing, halfway houses, and re-entry programs
Supervised or supported living like group homes, recovery centers, and adult rehab programs
Long-term residential facilities including nursing homes, assisted living, and senior living communities
Extended-stay or mixed-use sites like RV or trailer parks, long-stay campgrounds, boarding houses, and SRO units
Community-based residences such as YMCA housing and clergy or religious residences

If the input address maps to a conditional property type, a residential override will be applied to property tax and USPS data enabling frictionless onboarding.

The setting will be under the Verify address product settings and listed as Conditional Address Acceptance.

Why it matters:

This expands coverage for people with valid but nontraditional living situations while keeping your CIP standards intact. It also delivers a meaningful lift in auto-accept rates. We’re finalizing details with partners and will share configuration guidance upon full release.

Watchlist

PEP schema update: richer positions and locations

Starting Nov. 17, 2026, we will improve PEP profile data quality with structured position and location fields, rolling out in two phases. Today, each PEP's positions and associated countries are grouped into single fields, which makes it hard to identify the start and end dates of a position or to apply country-based filters accurately. The new structured fields will let you see each known political position distinctly and filter by a PEP's country of political exposure.

Phase 1: new fields (Nov. 17, 2026)

A new positions[] array will list each position a PEP holds distinctly, with title, pepClass, status (current, former, or unknown), startDate, endDate, and sourceText.
A new locations[] array will separate known locations into country of political exposure (pepCountry), birth address (birthAddress), and residence address (residenceAddress).

Phase 2: removal of old fields (early January 2027)

We will remove 35 older comments.* fields and relationships[].topics[]. Most will be replaced by positions[] and locations[].
We will change relationships[].positions[] from an array of strings to an array of objects. If you use this field, update your parser.
Before the fields are removed, you will receive an email with the full set of changes so you can update your integration.

As PEP profiles are enriched in batches, you may see a slightly elevated hit rate in the first half of December. Prepare your integration for the Phase 2 changes before early January 2027 to avoid integration issues.
