Account Management v1
The original RiskOS™ user access management model, based on system-defined and custom roles with account and environment permissions.
This is the original RiskOS™ user access management model, based on system-defined and custom roles with account and environment permissions.
A role determines what a user can do and see in RiskOS™. A user's role usually relates to their responsibilities in your organization. Some roles are administrative and are designed for managing users and accounts. Other roles are non-administrative, and are designed for users who only need access to certain key features in RiskOS™.
Types of roles in RiskOS™
There are two types of roles in RiskOS™: system defined roles and custom roles. You can assign these two types of roles to the users in your organization to restrict access to certain pages, settings, environments, and more.
System defined roles
System defined roles are predefined roles that you can assign to users or use as a template to create custom roles. System defined roles cannot be deleted and, in some cases, have strict usage rules. For example, there must be an Account Owner role assigned at all times, and there must be an Administrator assigned to every account and sub account.
To learn more about the default permissions for each role, see System Defined Roles.
Account vs. Environment permissions
Each role has a set of permissions that controls access to the pages and functionality in RiskOS™. There are two types of permissions in RiskOS™: Account permissions and Environment permissions.
- Account Permissions: Controls access to specific pages in RiskOS™.
- Environment Permissions: Control access to specific pages in RiskOS™ in the Production and Sandbox environments.
